Bolton Cannabis Raid Nets 2 Tonnes Worth £24m, Men Charged

On Friday, Greater Manchester Police carried out a raid at Leigh Tenement Farm in Blackrod, Bolton. The operation uncovered 2 tonnes of cannabis—a quantity worth an estimated £24 million—making it one of the largest drug seizures in UK history. The seized stash was found stored in a hidden room within the property. Two men, Musa Kala, 35, resident of Dunbar Drive, Bolton, and Raheem Latif, 27, of Leverhulme Avenue, Bolton, have been charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis. They were remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Monday, 12 January 2026, where the charges will be formally presented. Police say the raid disrupts a sophisticated illegal supply network.
