BBC boss who quit after Gaza documentary handed OBE in New Year Honours List

Charlotte Moore, the BBC's Chief Content Officer who resigned in April 2025 over the controversial Gaza documentary 'Gaza: Unseen', has been awarded an OBE in the 2026 New Year Honours List. Moore, 56, stepped down from her £475,000-a-year role after the broadcaster admitted it failed to follow editorial guidelines in the documentary that showed the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike. The awards, announced by King Charles III, recognize her 25-year career at the BBC where she oversaw major programming including 'Doctor Who', 'Strictly Come Dancing' and 'Line of Duty'. Moore will receive the honour for 'services to broadcasting' at a ceremony in 2026.
