Baby Suffering After Recalled Nestlé Formula Sparks Urgent Investigation
Mum of 3‑month‑old baby requests full probe after son's illness following Nestlé formula recall.

Nestlé announced a global recall on 10 January 2026 of specific batches of its SMA infant and follow‑on formula after detecting the heat‑resistant toxin cereulide. A mother in the North of England reports her three‑month‑old son fell seriously ill after being fed the recalled formula. Symptoms – vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, mottled skin, blue feet – progressed to meningitis, confirmed after lumbar punctures. The baby is receiving antibiotics. Despite Nestlé’s claim that no illnesses have been confirmed, the mother demands a full investigation into the contamination and the safety of the product. UK Health Security Agency notes no confirmed cases so far but will continue testing.
