Anthony Joshua discharged from hospital after fatal Nigeria car crash
British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from hospital following a deadly car crash in Nigeria.

British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua was discharged from Lagoon Hospital Ikoyi on December 31, 2025, following a fatal car crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Sagamu on December 29. The incident occurred around midday local time when Joshua's black Lexus SUV, reportedly traveling above the speed limit and overtaking, lost control and collided with a stationary truck parked roadside. The crash killed two of Joshua's close friends and team members - Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami. Joshua, 36, sustained only minor injuries. According to statements from the Lagos and Ogun state governments, Joshua and his mother paid respects to the deceased at a funeral home before their repatriation to the UK. The crash occurred while Joshua was on holiday in Nigeria following his December 19 victory over Jake Paul in Miami.
