Amanda Wixon Convicted of 25‑Year House‑Slavery Abuse
A 56‑year‑old woman was kept as a “house slave” in Gloucestershire for 26 years before being freed in 2021.

In Gloucestershire in March 2021, police raided the Priors Park home of 56‑year‑old Amanda Wixon. She had kept a teenage woman with learning difficulties, estimated now in her forties, as a “house slave” from 1995 until 2021. The victim endured daily beatings, forced labour, and denied basic hygiene. Social services had a record only in the late 1990s and no follow‑up for 20 years. Wixon pleaded not guilty to false imprisonment but was found guilty on four charges including assault and forced labour; one assault charge was acquitted. The girl is now in foster care, attends college and has travelled abroad. Wixon will be sentenced on 12 March 2026 on conditional bail.
