86 Arrests at Wormwood Scrubs After Protest
86 protesters supporting activist Umer Khalid breached HMP Wormwood Scrubs in London and were arrested.

On Sunday 25 January 2026, a group of 86 protesters gathered outside HMP Wormwood Scrubs in London, supporting Umer Khalid—a Palestine Action‑linked activist who is on hunger strike and accused of a 2025 RAF Brize Norton break‑in that damaged two Voyager aircraft. The demonstrators refused to leave after police asked them to, blocking staff movements and threatening officers. Some entered a staff entrance, but security was ultimately not breached. All 86 were arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass. The Metropolitan Police said there was no security compromise and highlighted that prisoners are under medical monitoring while the Ministry of Justice confirmed staff safety. Khalid has denied the charges and escalated his protest to a thirst strike.
